My Gong & Sound Playing
Sound vibrations offer a deeply meditative experience. They have the potential for alleviating and maybe healing some emotional and physical challenges. While I do not specifically play my gongs, chimes, bowls and bells for 'healing', you can still get a lot from a sound bath meditation experience. Here are the types of playing that I currently focus on.
  • Restorative & Meditative Gong & Sound (also known as a 'gong bath' or 'sound bath')
  • Gong & Sound Yoga (supporting yoga asana sequences and breathing)
  • Chakra Gong & Sound Suite (balancing and energizing
the chakras; may also include Reiki
  • Innovative Gong & Sound Concert (pushing the boundaries of what is possible -- sort of the opposite of restorative gong)

* Why aluminum Himalayan singing bowls? -- Metal bowls are traditionally used in the homes and kitchens in the Himalaya mountain regions, mostly in Nepal and northern India. They are incorrectly referred to as "Tibetan bowls" and their use in sound healing is a very recent phenomenon, discovered in the West. Nowadays, they mainly made in Nepal either by machine or hammered by hand. Most are made from bronze "bell metal" (80% copper and 20% tin -- the same as most gongs and bells). Aluminum Himalayan singing bowls are a newer invention and less common than bronze bowls. They have a deeper and more grounded ton, and are similar to crystal bowls in that their sound is louder, more consistent in tone and for singing than many bronze bowls. Bronze bowls, on the other hand, are kind of similar to gongs in that they have more complex overtones and they resonate longer, which makes them generally better for individual sound sessions, including placing directly on or next to the body for "healing" vibrations. DIVERSITY
~
We are all fragments of Source, All That Is, God -
born into
3rd Dimensional Reality
to experience, enjoy and
create the rich diversity
that it offers.

Each part of that diversity is also a fragment of Source
that is here for
the same reason -
created by and creating
the diversity of life.

If we need a life goal,
that goal is to create diversity, experience it,
and then to re-integrate
what we have created.

That is how Source, All That Is, comes to know itself
- through us coming to know ourselves.

~
My gong set is 'Diversity' -
We are here to create diversity and integration
in this year of transformation,
2020
